BayCard Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a charge for the BayCard?

Yes, there is a mandatory $1.50 fee to obtain a BayCard which is listed as part of “Tuition and Fees”. Please refer to the Student Financial Services website for further information.

How long will it take once my BayCard online application is submitted?

First time students will receive their card during their school orientation. Replacement cards, however, must be picked up at the University Library.

What is the largest file size I can upload?

12MB.

What photo file types do you accept?

JPEG (.jpg) only are accepted.

What happens if the photo I supply does not meet the requirements specified by BayCard?

Your application for a BayCard will be delayed. You will receive an email indicating the reason why the photo is not acceptable and will have to either re-upload another picture or visit the University Library to have your BayCard manually produced.

How do I get a replacement card?

If you lose your card, immediately go to the Web Center and select “DEACTIVATE CARD.”

Replacement card fee is $10.00 for a regular card and $25.00 for residence access cards.

You can Express Order a replacement card if you have the necessary funds available in your Account. Use the online Express Card Replacement Order form. Once the form is submitted, you will be charged $10.00 from your Account ($25.00 for residence access. Please contact Student Housing & Residential Life for more information on a replacement residence access card). If you do not have the necessary funds in your Account, you will have to go to the University Library, request a replacement card, and pay in advance. For additional help and information on a lost BayCard, the BayCard Office is located in the Student Services and Administration building and can be reached by phone at 510-885-2273 or email baycard@csueastbay.edu .
